National Geographic Explorer and Marine Ecologist with the
Pristine Seas Project.
The mission of the project is to explore and protect the vital places in the ocean.
Pristine Seas works with local communities, Indigenous Peoples, governments and partners
to protect our ocean, but also areas that have been somehow degraded by human activities,
so they can bounce back. Marine life thrives in these marine protected areas and provides
multiple benefits to people, from food and coastal protection to jobs and economic revenue.

Sushi night at the house
This past Sunday evening, my roommates and a group of friends and I had a sushi / painting night. It was awesome. Sushi nights in Corvallis with roommates and friends were always so fun, and when I casually suggested it to my roommates here, they loved the idea! So the plan for Sunday Sushi began, and soon canvas paintings were thrown into the idea... 'cause we need excitement on our white walls!
It was a great night of sushi, music, and painting outside on the back patio in the perfect evening temperature! Everyone got their hands dirty with sticky rice and brightly-colored paint, so all in all, a successful night. Definitely not the last time we'll be doing that!
So for a little comparison...

All our paintings! (Mine's the little brightly colored one on the middle-left)
I've added more of these pictures to the Australia photo album, too.
